| TRANSFERRING A DOMAIN(S) TO SHOREWEB HOSTING To transfer your domain name to your new ShoreWeb Hosting account, you need to modify your Domain Nameserver information (NAMESERVER or DNS). This can be done by the registrar where your domain is registered. Visit your registrar's web site and then follow the directions they provide to change your domain nameserver information. If you do not know how to do this, send an email and we will assist you in the process of transferring your domain name. Use the following Nameserver / DNS information when registering or transferring your domain name with ShoreWeb: GENESIS -
Server 1 (only for existing customers/accounts) EXODUS - Server 2
(for new customers/accounts) TRANSFERRING (FTP 'ING) FILES TO YOUR ACCOUNT To upload your files to the web server (the computer on which your web pages are stored), you will need a FTP (File Transfer Protocol) program. We suggest using the shareware program called CuteFTP. Please note that you need to be connected to the internet to connect to your site with FTP. When uploading your files, the home page needs to be named "index.html" and the files need to be uploaded into the "/public_html" folder. File Transfer Protocol (FTP) Settings FTP Host Address FTP User Name --> (supplied in welcome
email) Until your domain starts resolving to the ShoreWeb Hosting servers (usually 24-72 hours), you can see your uploaded files at... GENESIS

ftp://209.123.207.12/public_html Once the domain is resolving to the ShoreWeb Hosting servers (usually 24-72 hours), you can use your domain address/URL, e.g., http:// or ftp://yourdomainname.com/. EMAIL & WEBMAIL Step-by-Step setup instructions for MS Outlook Express POP3 SMTP If you need any assistance or instructions on how to setup your email, just email us for support. Many customers already have an email address they prefer to use, so you can (or we can) setup your domain email(s), then forward to an existing email account, so you do not have to check multiple email accounts (unless you want to?). To access your webmail, at the location or address field in your web browser, type the following --> http://www.yourdomain.com/webmail/ (be sure to replace the "yourdomain.com" with your actual domain name ;) plus you need to make sure you have a "/" at the end of webmail/.
CONTROL PANEL ShoreWeb Hosting offers a feature-rich Control Panel for you to manage, track, and tools to enhance your website. To access your Control Panel, at the location or address field in your web browser, type the following --> http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel/ (be sure to replace the "yourdomain.com" with your actual domain name ;) Some features of the Control Panel may not be activated depending on which web hosting package you selected.
